Make Money Online 

This section is all about giving you practical advice on how to make money online and how to start and build a home based internet business.

First things first. I have already mentioned in the money maker advice home page that knowledge is power and have gone into the main reasons why 98% of internet marketers fail to make any money online. I have also explained in Internet Based Home Business that it is not easy to make money online. 

I am a strong believer in logic. The most logical approach I have come across to making money online is the approach recommended by Sitesell:

Why logical? It is actually very simply. C > T > P > M is a step-by-step   approach to building an online business.

Step 1. Content - We need a product, service or website concept.
Step 2. Traffic - Once we have content we need to attract visitors.
Step 3. PREsell - The best way to promote products and services.
Step 4. Monetize - The various ways to increase our online income.

One of the biggest problems new internet marketers are confronted with is "Information Overload" - They are being given so much information at the same time that it is impossible to make sense of it all.

Step 1 : Content

In many ways, content is our foundation. Without a solid foundation it is impossible to make money online.

What all falls under content? Everything we need to do that will prepare us for building a profitable online business and allow us to make money online.

Many internet marketers make the mistake of using a free website that they get from one or other so-called marketing opportunity company as their foundation in starting their own online business. Not a good idea! I suggest you have a look at my web page Free Website - Facts and Myths for more information. Rather make your own website for free. It's easy.

What about free web hosting? Also not a good idea. Not very professional and certainly not good for establishing credibility with your visitors. Using free web hosting services is often a dead giveaway to your visitors that they are dealing with a novice or fly-by-night company.

Choosing the right domain name and registering it with a good domain name registrar is important. Refer to Domain Name Registration for some useful tips and advice on choosing and registering a domain name. 

Step 2 : Traffic

There is no point trying to get traffic or visitors if you have nothing or very little to offer them. Rather spend 100% of your time building content before you even consider the various methods for getting traffic.    

Step 3 : PREsell

I would guess that nearly 99% of new internet marketers do not have their own product or service to sell when they first start out. This is one of the reasons why having a home based affiliate business is so popular.

A common mistake is to try too hard to sell another company's product or service. Most people search the internet looking for information and do not appreciate hard selling techniques.
 

It is the job of the merchant who's product it is to sell the product, not yours. You only need to PREsell the product - I.e. Create an interest in the product so that when your customer visits the merchants website he or she will be in the right frame of mind to buy.

Step 4 : Monetize

There is nothing wrong wanting to make money online and it is a good idea to have multiple streams of income. You don't want to put all your eggs in one basket. However, remember that monetizing is the last step in the process.

Many people try to make money online by immediately looking at ways of monetizing instead of first building content and getting traffic.

What is the point of, for example, putting Google Adsense Ads all over your website when you have very little else to offer your visitors and are getting hardly any visitors to your site? Don't wast your time.

Consider where you are now and where you want to be in the future. Draw up a plan and follow it step-by-step. With the right approach you can make money online and become a successful money maker.
